Hi, I’m Cindy. I live in Texas with my awesome science nerd husband and two zany daughters–Yoshi (3) and Zuzu (born March 2012). I work part-time from home as an online art teacher of high school students. I am a former elementary art teacher, college art appreciation instructor, and museum educator.
For much of my adult life, I have been highly ambitious. When I quit my job when Yoshi was about 1 year old, I learned to let go of the ambition that was ultimately making me unhappy and embrace a slower and simpler life. My top priority now is figuring out how to make the best refrigerator pickles, and that is a great ambition to have. Pickles are really good.
I also write letters to my girls at the blog http://yoshiandzuzu.wordpress.com/.
The blog title, Little Bit of Scrapes, comes from my daughter. In the middle of singing her favorite song, she stopped, looked at her knee, and said “I’ve got a little bit scrapes.” It was funny and cute. I felt that you can come up with some deep metaphorical thing with that name. If you wanted. I’m too sleep-deprived to think of something clever.
Here’s the video of Yoshi singing Ingrid Michaelson’s You and I. Little bit scrapes happens around 1:13.
